How the Being Man Journey Is Held
January 2027 Cohort
The inaugural Being Man cohort begins in January 2027.
A cohort is a shared journey.
Men enter together and move at a common pace. The purpose is to help a man recognise where he is, stay with what is changing, and move through this part of life with greater honesty, awareness, and care.
Duration and Rhythm
The cohort unfolds over approximately 7 months, with planned pauses between phases, followed by an open period of integration.
The pauses matter.
They give space for what has been seen and stirred to settle into ordinary life.
The journey is held at a deliberate pace.
Each phase is given room.
The phases
| Stage | Content | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Orientation | Entry and orientation | 2 weeks |
| Phase I — Awakening | Recognising the shift | 4–8 weeks |
| Transition Pause | Rest and integration | Short break |
| Phase II — Descent | Staying with what is loosening | 3–6 months |
| Transition Pause | Rest and integration | Short break |
| Phase III — The Crossing | Giving shape to what is emerging | 4–8 weeks |
| Phase IV — Second Birth | Living from a deeper ground in life | Continues beyond the cohort |
How the Cohort Is Held
Gatherings
Sessions are held in small groups.
Each session is approximately 2 hours.
Meetings take place weekly or fortnightly, depending on the phase.
There is a steady rhythm to the gatherings:
- arrival and settling
- brief orientation
- guided attention or practice
- small-group witnessing
- shared silence
The space is there to help a man slow down enough to hear himself again, and to let his own life come more clearly into view.
Between Gatherings
Between sessions, simple invitations are offered so the work can continue in ordinary life.
These may include:
- noticing patterns
- making room for quiet
- spending time in nature
- staying present to what is shifting before rushing to resolve it
What matters is learning how to stay close to what is true.
The Movement of the Journey
The stages give shape to what can otherwise feel confusing.
They help a man recognise that what he is living may have a place in a larger pattern of life.
| Phase I — Awakening A man begins to recognise that something in him is shifting. The old way may still be there. It simply no longer carries the whole of him as it once did. | Phase II — Descent This is the part of the journey where familiar structures begin to loosen. There can be less certainty here. Less grip. What matters is honesty, patience, and the willingness to remain present to what is changing. |
| Phase III — The Crossing Something quieter begins to gather shape. A man may notice fresh energy, deeper attention, or a clearer sense of what matters. The work here is to stay close enough to what is emerging for it to become real and trustworthy in life. | Phase IV — Second Birth Over time, a more grounded way of living begins to take form. Action becomes steadier. Less driven by role, image, or pressure. More responsive to what is true. |
Who This Is For
This cohort is for men who recognise something of themselves in this ground.
They may sense that the old way is not carrying them as it once did.
They may know something is changing, even if they do not yet have full words for it.
What matters is readiness:
- a willingness to be honest
- a willingness to move at the pace of the work
- a willingness to take part with sincerity, steadiness, and respect
Entering the Cohort
Entry begins with:
- a short reflective assessment
- an orientation conversation
- agreement to the pace and structure of the journey
The assessment is there as a way of orientation.
It helps a man recognise where he is and whether this is the right time to enter.
Participation asks for confidentiality, sincerity, and the capacity to be present to other men with care and restraint.
A Final Word
If something in you recognises the ground here, that is enough for a beginning.
You do not need to have everything worked out.
What matters is honesty.
What matters is the willingness to recognise where you are and to let that be real.
From there, the journey can begin.
